Morecambe Hotels is a small, independently-run guide to where to stay in Morecambe and the surrounding part of the Lancashire coast. The idea is simple: a short honest write-up of each area, and a list of the hotels that are genuinely nearby, ordered by how far they actually are from Morecambe.

We are not the former Glenthorn Hotel

This is worth stating clearly, because the domain name invites the assumption. We have no connection to the Glenthorn Hotel that traded at 24–26 West End Road, Morecambe LA4 4DL. That business appears to have closed some years ago; the domain name later became available and is now used for this guide. We cannot take bookings for it, and we hold no records relating to it beyond what is publicly archived. There is a short summary of what it was on the home page.

Where the information comes from

Hotel names, street addresses, ratings and review counts come from Google Places data and were recorded in September 2026. Ratings move, so treat them as a rough guide rather than a current figure. We deliberately do not write descriptions of individual hotels: we have not stayed in them, and inventing detail about a real business would make this site worse than useless.

The area write-ups — geography, history, transport — are written independently and stick to things that are well established. Where something is uncertain it is left out rather than guessed at.

How it is paid for

We do not run a booking system. For live availability and prices the links go to Booking.com, and we may earn a commission on bookings made through them, at no extra cost to you.
